Okay, so prepare to be impressed- guess who has six followers on Twitter? Yup that’d be me! (Ps. Follow me!)…but my Pinterest is still pretty lonely, so I’ve got nothing to impress you with there!
But enough about that, how is your Tuesday going? Mine started with Body Combat and CX classes. For combat we did the new one again, and because I seriously despise that track 6 song I quickly jumped on the tready (to keep my heart rate up) in the other room till it was over. Plus my knee was not quite enjoying the lunges. It’s still being weird and although it wasn’t sore during the workout (apart from the lunges) it aches when it’s cold and I’m just doing day-to-day activities. It hurts going up the stairs at home, but not at work- talk about picky 😉 Oh and CX was the most current release but the instructor has incorporated two bonus tracks into positions 3 and 1. I actually much prefer this bonus 3 over the original. I think it’s because instead of the skiing arm move (ouch shoulders) we do a move where we push the tube out in front (instead of side to side). I also got to shadow on stage to prepare for my training in November! EEEK! I’m so excited, not only for the training but because it also means end of prac! (4 weeks please fly by).
I then rushed to work (other employees still away) and did the cleaning, had lunch (wholegrain bread with chicken, carrot, lettuce, cucumber & tomato) and tried to do some more lesson plans for week 3 and 4. But I’m totally not feeling it and cannot get myself in the mood to do it! Maybe that’s my mind saying- gimme a break jeez.
Anyways, as my mind commands I’m taking a break. I thought what better way to let my mind relax than to make some fitness goals for myself.
My Fitness Goals & Aspirations
Short Term
- Attend a Les Mills Grit Strength class
- Attend a Les Mills Body Attack class
- Train in CXWORX
- Do crossfit
- Stretch more!
- Do hot yoga
- Increase my Body Pump weights
- Foam roll after my classes every chance I get (not in a rush, it’s available etc)
Long Term
- Became a certified CXWORX instructor
- Get my Advanced Module 1 (AIM 1) for Body Step
- Eventually do my AIM 2 training for Body Step
- Attend a Body Step master class (video taping) in New Zealand
- Finish a half marathon
- Become fitter, leaner and stronger
- Do heavy weights, low reps (just for you Tara 😉 )
- Finish a 10km run in less than an hour
- Deepen my squat range
That’s all I can think of for the moment- but I’ll let you know in a later post if I update/change any of them. Some are easily achievable, others are wishes that will require a lot of work and some… well I would say they are almost impossible. But you know what- I’m going to cross off every one of them one day 😉 Just you wait!
What is one of your fitness goals and aspirations?
Woohoo! I love the goals, obviously 😉 I think you will really love it. I started off doing high rep stuff too, but my body didn’t respond until I stopped doing 100s of reps and started focusing on good form and heavy weight. Keep the compound movements at 5-8 reps, and then add in accessory movements as you please. Try to beat your weight every week, and work up to a 2x bodyweight squat and deadlift – then tell me you don’t feel strong and powerful!!
Haha, thought you would 😉 Since, I’ve got four weeks of teaching prac and I’ve taken work off- I might make my friday nights- weight nights. Okay, thanks for the tips! How exciting 🙂 Hopefully my brother will join me so I don’t feel so out of place haha.
