Look familiar? No it’s not last week’s Sweet Potato & Pumpkin Risotto, nor is it the Creamy Mushroom & Pumpkin Risotto. It’s Chicken Risotto! Okay, I’m guessing we are all starting to wear thin of the Weight Watcher Risottos? (Haha wear thin- Weight Watchers- get it?…or not).

Anyways, with the stellar performance of last week’s dinner how could I not go with something I knew would be good. The difference? It’s in the numbers.

Once again, slightly bigger serving size. Actually, when I opened it up and piled it in my bowl I was like oh my that’s a decent size! Higher protein, calories, carbs and sodium. The sodium is a bit of a tut tut, but I’m loving the jump in protein. The calories are also still pretty low- well I would say they are for an average athletic female, they would also still be appropriate for people trying to lose weight on low calorie diets (although I don’t condone dieting or low calorie restriction!!!!!) The difference is also in the ingredients..

(Sorry for the horrible picture).

This meal comes with chicken! Mmmmm. I actually really enjoyed the flavour of the chicken, considering I’m someone who typically gets freaked out by frozen meat- call me crazy (wow, did anyone else instantly think of the Call me Maybe song? Haha, it’s not my fault- Body Step 89 uses that song in it’s recovery track!). I also enjoyed the added beans and peas, and felt this meal definitely had more vegies than previous risottos I’ve tried.

However, although the meal was thoroughly enjoyable and probably the best of the three, I’m definitely getting over the cheese-y taste of these dishes. I think it’s because every risotto had exactly the same sauce flavour. Don’t get me wrong though this meal is great! So great that I’d probably have to give it 9.75/10- the taste really amps up the score. Actually, I’d probably score it a 9 and then alter the other risottos. I’d make last week’s an 8.5 and the week before an 8. I guess this is what moderating is like? (Teacher joke!).

Whilst it scored pretty darn good in my books I am definitely going to go a different direction for next week’s frozen dinner. I’m thinking something tomato-y. I’m sick of cheese (yes I did just say that!).

It’s your turn, have YOU got any frozen dinners that you recommend I try? (No more cheese please- rhyming guru haha)

Good morning, how did everyone sleep?

The other day I had the thought to do a post on my pet peeves for a bit of fun. It’s pretty interesting to see what small, silly things get people’s backs up. Being a stressful and anxious person sometimes my pet peeves can be slightly irrational (understatement) and I have days where everything is a big pain in the kaboose. If reading a bunch of annoying stuff will most likely tick you off, maybe you’d prefer reading things I’m loving right now or things that make me happy. However, if you’re not feeling too highly strung today (hehe) read on 😉

  1. People who serve my food up (unless given permission) or who prepare my food wrong. Okay, that sounds super anal and picky but if I have something I like to prepare a special way then it can occasionally (always) annoy me when someone does it wrong. You know who you are 😉 haha!
  2. People who have to have the last word. No, stop talking- I speak last. Haha. Stubborn? Yes.
  3. Tissues that get left around after being used- all crumbled up and gross. Even serviettes or things that resemble tissues. Ahhh grosses me out.
  4. Toilet paper outside of the toilet vicinity. Doesn’t belong there!
  5. Grubs and messyness. Stay organised guys!
  6. People who suck on and grind their teeth against paddle pop sticks (after they’ve finished the ice-cream). This totally grosses and freaks me out ahhh. I cannot stand it.
  7. Instructors who tell you not to use you’re phones 😉 Haha. Or just bossy instructors in general!
  8. My brother, ahhh do I even bother explaining this?
  9. People who whistle non-stop. Irritating or what?!
  10. Knuckle and joint cracking. Don’t do it! Arthritis is in your future.
  11. People who are uneducated, unaware and ignorant (not in a bad way- it’s not their fault) follow social myths (eg. dieting, exercise, food etc- especially).

Okay, is everyone else officially annoyed? I don’t enforce emotional eating but if you feel the need to now have a teaspoon of pb and punch someone- you’ve got my permission 😉

But I do hate leaving you in such an irritable and grumpy state. And I really couldn’t do that to those around you, so let’s finish with some cute and funny pics to get you smiling again 😉

Ps. Sorry for the explicits in many of those photos, definitely not done on purpose- but hay they’re pretty funny!

Daily Healthy Thought: I will learn to be patient with myself and others especially.

What’s your daily healthy thought? Do you have any of the same pet hates as me? What are some of your pet hates?
