Hello and welcome to my blog Crave!
I am a major newbie when it comes to blog creating and writing- but I am a total expert at blog reading and admiring. After reading many beloved blogs on healthy eating and living, exercise, recipes, food and eating disorder issues I have finally created my very own blog where I can now entertain, delight, help, inform, bore, distract and ramble.
Let’s start with my name- I am Rebecca and I live in Brisbane, Australia. I am 20 years old and am studying a Bachelor of Education to become a primary school teacher. Whilst I love working with kids, I also have a ginormous interest in all things to do with food, cooking, baking, health and exercise. My passion for fitness even pushed me to become a Les Mills Body Step instructor which I absolutely LOVE!
Life wasn’t always like this however- growing up as a very active dancer and then giving it up after 10+ years took a toll on my body. I began doing very little exercise, being very lazy, loving food (and still do) and eating anything and everything my heart desired. Eventually I became overweight (or over my ideal healthy weight) and during the year of my 18th birthday I decided enough was enough and I was going to get ‘skinny’ (what a terrible goal right). Well I guess that’s where the issues began..
Although at the time everything was fine and dandy- I exercised constantly, ate very little and extremely healthy- I began obsessing over everything. My burn rate during exercise, calories, fat, sugar, sodium, weight etc etc. It became an unhealthy obsession of wanting to be skinnier and constantly caring what everyone thought of me. This is discussed in greater detail through my posts.
Although, it was (and still is at times) a tough time in my life I had my amazing family and incredibly perfect boyfriend by my side the entire time. It has been three amazing years that we have been together and I am thankful for every day I have with him. He truly is an amazing man and I am constantly reminded how lucky I am.
And if you want to get to know me a bit better..
