Hey friends. Congratulations, you made it through Monday 🙂 Even though I don’t know what everyone’s wingeing about on a Monday- I love them 😉 I got to teach an early step class, do a bike and pump class ,and go to the movies with mumma. We saw Hope Springs (I think that’s what it’s called?). We both really enjoyed it, but it’s definitely one I’d recommend for the ladies, keep the guys at home 😉 All the actors had been cast really well and it was refreshing to watch a realistic movie that wasn’t so predictable.
But hay, since we need to start living in the here and now, lets talk about today. After breakfast I did a body combat and cx class. Both classes were great as usual but gosh my tight calves were playing up again. I guess it doesn’t help that combat is quite a jump-y cardio class. I did take it easy though and pace myself, but I just hope that they get better before my double Step on Thursday. I really want to get a deep tissue or remedial sports massage before then, but it’s about finding the time I guess.
Now I am home and just taking it easy before I go off to uni this afternoon. I also made myself a little ramekin of yogurt and muesli to tide me over.
OH and I guess it’s time I introduce my other dog to the blog. You’ve all met Dotti, so here is the other dog Paws. Now I know that, like your children, you should never have favourites.. but I do and it’s the my little princess Dotti. What can ya do? Haha. Don’t worry though the big guy still gets plenty of love. I caught him looking way too suspicious this morning next to her bowl of dry dog food. His expression reads “What? I’m just sitting here, not doing anything”. Sneaky, sneaky haha. I can gaurantee that as soon as he heard the garage door go down (indicating we were gone) he hoed into that!
Remember the 5km obstacle course event I was telling you about? The Stampede. Well that’s coming up this weekend actually and I am super excited. I don’t know If I’m underestimating it or if I’m just way too good (I prefer the second option) but I’m not all that nervous, and everyone else doing it sounds like they are dreading it haha. I think it’s going to be fun more than anything and for me it’ll just be about enjoying myself. Because really, who takes it seriously when dressed in fluro? So to try and prep myself I checked out what obstacles we will be dealing with, because surely they can’t be that bad…right? Well check them out for yourself:
- Unders & Overs: Crawl over and under logs.
- Human window: Contort your body to fit through a hole in the wall.
- Mystery Obstacle!! Ooohhh.
- Rope Tango: Army crawl through the mud under 30 metres of sticky netting.
- Bubble Bath: Bash through a giant pit of foam (YES PLEASE)
- The Esky: Pit of ice….
- Bus Stop: Climb up and over the bus
- Devil’s Cave: Feel your way through the dark cavern.
- Water Cannon: self explanatory?
- Trauma tunnels: Climb through small cement tunnels.
- Wrecking Yard: Run, crawl or jump over the wrecking heap.
- Slip & Slide: Slide into muddy water below.
- Sunday Roast: Leap over the fire pit.
- The Mud Buffet: Crawl through epic mud pits.
- Bug Zapper: Run through live wires (10,000 volts).
Think I’m crazy? Haha. The ones I’m really worried about is The Esky, Devil’s Cave, Trauma Tunnels and the Human Window. I don’t particularly like small, dark places and I hate the cold. So this is going to be fun! Let’s just say I’m glad I’m wearing cheap, fluro clothes opposed to my new Rockwear gear haha!
Before I go, have you heard about my Healthy Thoughts, Healthy Actions pact? Feel free to join- the more, the merrier 🙂
