My precious’! (Lord of the rings reference coming atcha?) Finally they have arrived in grocery stores in Qld! I have been waiting for this day. Why do I have 5? Well, when we did the grocery shopping today they had a special- 5 for $5! Since individually they are $2, I snatched up that bargain. We all know I am the bargain hunter right 😉 Because it is a new product and it was on special the only two flavours left were plain 0% and blueberry 0%. Lucky for us blueberry is the bf’s fav flavour and I would typically opt for the 0% anyways! Meant to be.
But first lets go back to the start of the day (I just had to share that news with you first though; like a
kid me in a candy shop I was just too excited). I woke up way too early for someone who got to bed at 2:20am, but I knew that once I was up there was no going back to sleep. So there I was at 7:10am wishing I could still be sleeping and rehydrating myself with plenty of water. I am not hungover in the slightest, thanks to my behaved drinking efforts last night, but I am tired! Eventually the rest of the crew woke up and I got to work feeding everyone bacon, eggs and toast 🙂 I was a very busy housewife this morning running on some weird non-existent energy. I cleaned the place up from last night, including washing up dishes, packing the dishwasher, doing the garbage and gathering empty bottles, as well as cooking up a storm, cleaning up after, doing 3 loads of washing, making beds, feeding dogs and being a good hostess of course 😉 I wasn’t particularly hungry which was odd since I didn’t eat with everyone else during the post-drinking snack attack (will talk about this more). Once everyone left I began organising the grocery list and made myself toast topped with an egg scramble (1 egg, tofu, vegies) and 1/2 an english muffin with pb, chia seeds and banana slices. I was feeling carbs hard out and I definitely needed a heavy breakfast after all my partying last night.
Then the bf and I headed off to do some shopping for outfits for The Stampede. We are in a team with the bf’s work mates called the Fluro Freaks.
Do you think it’s appropriate?
I managed to grab awesome bargains at the Supre outlet store and the bf found his gear at Kmart. We are also wearing plain white boat-like shoes, that will either be spray-painted or laced with fluro laces (there’s no way I am ruining my beautiful runners in whatever possibly dirty and messy obstacles we are going to get thrown at us). Bright zinc and accessories will also be added of course 😉
We also grabbed some tasty lunch (sumo salad for me and Salsas for him) and the groceries. Although we were hoping to see the new Total Recall movie today I was pretty ruined by that point and just wanted to head home and sleep/relax. Luckily the bf felt exactly the same. When we got home we put on the relaxation cd my therapist gave me and although I didn’t end up sleeping it felt amazing to just stop and take time to chill. I really should do this more often. I felt re-energised and refreshed.
I think tonight we are going to take it easy since I have an early start tomorrow with another 6am Step class! I’ve also got another fill that night and I was hoping to get a bike and body pump class in too. But I think I might NOT over-do it (for once ha) and skip the bike class. I don’t want to burn myself out on Monday with the rest of the week still to come! But back to tonight- dinner is going to be absolutely delicious. I am seriously giddy with anticipation haha. Since we are on our own again (house sitting) we decided to have Stuffed Capsicums, because they were THAT good last time we couldn’t wait to have them again.
Oh and before I forget I mentioned the post-drinking snack attack everyone had last night. In the past (while suffering with my ed) I would typically just gorge myself with food after drinking because (1) I was usually starving, (2) I had a bottomless pit for a stomach when consuming alcohol and (3) because I felt like it was my only chance to eat that much and those types of foods. Well last night was different, thanks to my restriction-no more approach. Everyone headed to pie face (which the bf was a bit too thrilled about haha) and to be honest I was just plain not hungry. I admit this confused me too- I had been dancing non stop and definitely working up an appetite but I just was not feeling food. Maybe it was the fact that I was covered in ice it was that cold haha (may be slightly exaggerating). We got home shortly after (taxis are so hard to catch!) and I will admit I started to feel a bit hungry, but all I really wanted to do was have a big drink of water and sleep. This for me is a little feat in itself- because I didn’t fall into an unhealthy pattern that I typically would have done previously, and I listened to my body. I also think it’s important to realise that going out with friends doesn’t mean you have to be pressured into doing things you don’t want to. This includes drinking and eating predominantly. Not dancing though- this is not optional people haha 😉 Too often people fall off the bandwagon because their friends eat unhealthy or drink a lot and they feel the need to- just to fit in. You know what? Fitting in is boring and by conforming just to be like everyone else means you lose yourself. Stick with what you value and what you feel is the right thing for you. If everyone else opts for subway but you want a stinkin’ cheeseburger- bugger them and get it! If you don’t want to do shots but everyone else does- then don’t. It’s really that simple.
