TGIF! <— Yep, play that baby to get your weekend started 😉 or if you’re like me and work on the weekend, maybe THIS is better suited? Haha. Regardless if your super pumped or not- how was your Friday? Mine involved a Body Pump class, followed by a CX class, a math tutorial for uni, then work- where I’ve been busy cleaning and studying.
A lot has been happening for me lately- I’ve finally seen my potential and KNOW I can control my binges (YAY no binges for me :)), I’ve been offered a free (or half price) CX training at my gym and I’ve gained some after dinner guilt but learnt that there is justification to it (not just excuses or reasons). Oh and I’ve got another to add to the list and share with you all: I’ve been offered a permanent class at another gym for Thursday nights! I’ve only got one permanent class for Body Step at the moment on a Thursday morning, but typically I’ve been doing 1-4 ‘fills’ each week. Getting offered a permanent class is awesome, not only because it’s guaranteed money and offers cool perks (free membership) but because I really get to build a relationship with the members who come to the class. Having a permanent class allows me to get to know my participants better (especially the regulars), but it also gives me ownership in some sense over the class. It’s my responsibility to maintain and increase numbers, keep everyone happy and make sure I turn up! (But for some reason I don’t think that last one will be an issue haha). Oh and the fact that I get to DO another body step class is awesome! I cannot get enough of it.
With all the amazing things that are happening to me at the moment I feel my life is really blessed and am truly thankful for all I have. How I doubted life’s amazing-ness I’ll never know. Although things are looking up for me at the moment, I think it’s important for me (and all of us for that matter) to remember these times and also maintain this happy and positive attitude when things get tough (or don’t go our way). If the past/life tells us anything it’s that things get tough every now and again. (PS. I added those links to my older, more depressing type posts for people interested or wanting to know what I’m on about; I know you much prefer my more upbeat posts like this one and these– but to be honest I don’t want to paint a picture that life is always a bag of rainbows and puppies [or like a box of chocolates haha]. But it sure is incredible, right?)
If you guessed strawberries then you are correct! Strawberries must be in season around here now because they have gone from a ridiculous price of $5-$6 a punnet to a much more reasonable $3. I forgot how beautifully sweet these babies are and decided to add it to my wholemeal english muffin, almond butter and chia seeds yesterday afternoon before gym. Whilst personally I believe banana will always go with any nut butter, strawberries and almond butter really make the most adorable couple. Try it sometime! Why not get one english muffin and on one side place pb & banana slices and on the other almond butter and strawberries! Then make another lot and invite me over 😉
Oh and you thought you wouldn’t be rewarded for guessing my puzzle? Well here at Crave we always like to reward those who get it right (and those of you who try and get it wrong too!), so here ya go-
But I think it’s more of a reward for me, since in my belly it went 😉 Last night the bf and I made a trip to the video store, where they just so happen to (non-coincidentally hehe) stock ben and jerrys. And it must be our lucky day because they had two new flavours! One was Maple Tree Hugger and the other, Peanut Brittle. Can you guess which one I got?
We didn’t want to be totally gluttonous and get an entire pint each (yes each, because the bf refuses to get anything but the chocolate fudge brownie- and really it ain’t all that), so we opted for the tiny cup size. We both agreed that the sizing is ridiculous- the pint is (usually) too big for one but those little cups are a 1/4 of the size of the pint and not big enough! Lucky for me it was an easy decision- the maple tree hugger only came in pint size so I had no option but to get the peanut brittle (although in all honesty I could of easily downed a pint of the maple I bet- wanna challenge me? Haha!). It was amazing! I think it comes very close to the peanut butter ice cream I got from the Point and the butter pecan ice-cream I get from Marble Slab.
Now, eating this brings me back- the bf and I went through a phase of getting B & J for our dessert treat on a Saturday night (date night). We’ve tried sweet cream & cookies (loved it), half baked (awesome), chocolate fudge (meh), chunky monkey (yum but chocolate gets too much after a while), phish food (too much ughh!), cookie dough (GOOD!) and new york super fudge (bit too rich). Peanut Brittle is definitely my number 1 choice for B & J. We don’t actually have that many flavours on offer here in Australia, especially compared to the ginormous range you have in America and Canada- yes I’ve jealously checked out the product range online!
What is your favourite Ben & Jerry ice-cream flavour?
