So the end of the week is here and that means date night for me and the man! We are being a bit adventurous tonight and heading to Southbank for a change of pace- yes that will make it atleast two weeks since my beloved Marble Slab. But don’t despair, we will reunite soon I am sure. For tonight I’m pretty sure we have sushi in mind, followed by a new dessert place (well new for us) called San Churro. I’m really excited for both and I will try my hardest to remember to document it with pictures and come back with a lovely review for yall.
I started Saturday off with a Body Step & Pump combination then rushed home to get ready for work and prep my food for work (big thankyou to the bf who basically did it all!). Work’s been dragging a bit even though I have all this uni work here to keep me busy. I have been fairly productive though and managed to get my week 2 readings done, work on some lesson plans and make some good ground on my essay. I’ve also started organising the weekly dinners and grocery list, and I even managed to sneak some blog reading in there! Strangely enough, I am pretty knackered actually (who would of thought). I also think my freaky nightmare I had for the last 90 minutes of sleep this morning could be an underlying factor also. It was one of those times when you wake up only like 60-90 mins before your alarm and end up having a half-sleep up until your alarm goes off. Usually at those times my dreams are pretty vivid and I can remember them quite well.
Anyways, tomorrow is also going to be a busy day with The Brisbane Running Festival 5km race on and a trip to Sexpo. I’m sure you’re all aware now of my secret hatred for running and my uncanny inability to run. But I am determined to do it because I love fitness, I need to keep adding things to my empty-looking Races page (haha) and mainly, because I love the challenge. It challenges me physically (oh boy does it) and mentally. It doesn’t matter how short, long, easy or difficult- it’s all a struggle for me. And maybe that’s why I love it? Is it possible to despise something so much that the hatred can morph into love? hmm.
So what has my race prep included? Nuttah. Maybe this is why I am such a pro-runner?Physically, I don’t think I would have been able to fit any more exercise into my week and there sure as hell wasn’t any way that I was going to run instead of doing a class- you all know how much I love my Group Fitness! However, I didn’t train for the 10km run when I did the Bridge to Brisbane and I was quite surprised with how I went so let’s hope some of that happens tomorrow morning shall we. I am aiming for 30 minutes and to keep up with or beat the bf. I don’t think I’d live it down if he won haha! Oh but maybe I should do some carb-loading tonight for my huge race tomorrow? Haha any excuse 😉
We are also going to Sexpo for the first time ever (no popping the cherry pun necessary). We were suppose to go last year but I got quite sick that morning, so we had to cancel. I think it will be cool to check it out and we really only want to go to have a look around and for a bit of fun. (I am sorry if this offends anyone- it was not my intent. I am merely just documenting my life and experiences). So for those whom want to read about it, I’ll probably have a follow up post for that also!
Oh and in exciting news! I won something! You know I love winning things (who doesn’t) as seen when receiving my One Lovely Blog Award, but this time I actually won an item! I entered a competition run by Michelle from Health Food Lover and was one of the six very lucky winners. I am absolutely ecstatic with the prize because after buying liquid stevia and realising I wasted $10 on a tiny bottle that usually isn’t used in baking (facepalm), I will finally get to use some stevia in baking, because I will be receiving:
- 1 x Natvia 200g Canisters.
- 1 x Vitarium Sugar-free Kids Drinking Chocolate.
